Best Toothbrush and Floss for Braces
There are many good manual and electric toothbrushes on the market that can be used while wearing braces. We really like the Rota-dent electric toothbrush because of its hair link bristles and rotary head. You can work the gum line, back of tooth, top of tooth, etc with this toothbrush and it also acts to floss at the same time. However you still need to take the time to floss using the ortho flossing tools.
The oral-b threaded floss is good to use when flossing. They are easy to use and work fast to get in between the brackets.
If you are using a manual toothbrush, we recommend using soft ones. The soft is much more kind on your gumline and you can work it all around the brackets without worrying of knocking the brackets off or damaging the braces.
Don’t forget to rinse very often especially after meals, as food that gets trapped in the brackets should not be left in. By brushing, flossing, and rinsing you should be clean and ready to go until you next meal.
For those stubborn pieces of food and such, a small pair of tweezers usually does the trick to get it out.
